This is a page that shows some of my artwork apart from the Tapissary.

Lemon, Limes and Glass Teapot. Oil on linen. Aug 2022

9” x 9”

These are the same limes as the previous painting below. I may continue to work on this piece, or I may choose instead to keep its abstraction. In the forefront is a lemon with dabs of ornamental color, taking it as far away from its natural color as the fabric, which in real life is tar black and stained beige. All of the color catered to my whims. You might say the use of color, texture and line here reflect the Spatial Grammar of Tapissary, in that while the objects keep true to their form and placement as posed on my table, in this case, the painting is portrayed with inarguable subjectivity.

Lemon Halves, Limes and Stoneware Bottle. Oil on linen. July 2022

9” x 9”

I had some old limes and a lemon in my refrigerator. One lime had turned yellow ochre on its rind. The colors intrigued me, and now that I have been painting in oils again the past year, these old limes were irresistible. The ceramic bottle is by one of my classmates in ceramic class toward the beginning of the millennium. This bottle had paper thin walls, as Joe was a master potter. The sculpted bird on top used to have a long beak. The still life rests on a piece of fabric which I believe might be from Laos. I intend to use this textile again in future paintings.

The pieces below this line are my earlier works, mostly from around the turn of the millennium.

I drew this from a terracotta statue at LACMA years ago. It’s on a translucent paper which I backed in gold leaf. Pencil and water colors.

Another work I drew for my journal. Ancient Greek vase with dried leaves. Pencil, water colors, and acrylic.

I painted this oil onto a ceramic panel that I’d sculpted and glazed.

After I’d sculpted and glazed this tablet, I painted the man in oils.

A page from my journal. Ink, oil pastels on paper.

Looking toward the valley. Ink and color on paper. A page from one of my journals.

In my school days, we had an assignment to paint a scene of Los Angeles. I painted it on the flat roof of a friend’s apartment, looking toward downtown. Oil on canvas with some ceramic I’d made, and other mixed media.
